Redress Support ServiceThe Redress Support Service is a new initiative that aims to remove barriers that Survivors might face in their application for financial redress. The service employs a team of Link Workers who deliver emotional and practical support to applicants as required during their application process. There is an option at the end of the application process for survivors to access non-financial redress, which includes emotional support, and the Redress Support Service will facilitate this where required.
In addition, the service provides a responsive, high quality, trauma-informed helpline for those engaged in, or registered with, Scotland's Redress Scheme.
Alliance and initiativesThe In Care Survivors' Alliance hosts two initiatives that contribute to the Scottish Human Rights Commission's Action Plan on Justice for victims of Historic Abuse of Children in Care:
- Future Pathways, a national support fund for survivors of abuse or neglect in care in Scotland
- Redress Support Service, which aids survivors who apply for financial redress
The Alliance is fully funded by the Scottish Government and supported by partner organisations, including the Glasgow Psychological Trauma Service, Health in Mind and Penumbra Mental Health.
