You will review store processes to meet metrics and KRAs for availability, waste, and shrink by embedding routine and process into the shop floor, adhering to contract base management and wage control, while leading and coaching our managers and teams to high store standards across Ambient, Fresh, George, and General Merchandising in large-format stores.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver excellent execution across the store and embed consistent routines that improve availability, waste reduction, and shrink control.
  • Review store processes to deliver strong metrics and KRAs for availability, waste, and shrink.
  • Embed routines and processes across the shop floor, adhering to contract base management and wage control.
  • Lead and coach store managers and teams to maintain high store standards across Ambient and Fresh departments as well as George and General Merchandise in large-format stores.
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and open communication on the shop floor and beyond.
  • Coach leadership teams to deliver brilliant shopfloor standards and develop future talent through continuous improvement of routines and processes.
  • Drive the selling agenda with customer-focused initiatives and maintain healthy competition on the trading floor.
  • Ensure compliance with store policies and legal requirements while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for colleagues and customers.
What qualities you'll need
  • Execution and results-focused: a passion for getting things done right, first time, every time, with resilience and accountability for managers.
  • Commercial awareness: understanding how availability, waste, and shrink impact performance and how to improve them; lead the shrink agenda with clear actions.
  • Coaching and Leadership: ability to coach and develop leadership teams, drive routine and process improvements, and foster a culture of serving customers with personality, heart, and pride.
  • Organised and efficient: thrive in a fast-paced environment; prioritise and delegate to ensure promotional activity is delivered to brief and on time.
  • Collaborative: work cross-functionally to ensure smooth operations and a seamless customer experience.
  • Data-driven: use insights to inform decisions and drive operational improvements, manage the shrink agenda, and ensure store legality and compliance for customers and colleagues.
What you'll bring
  • Experience managing diverse teams in a large-format retail environment with energy and pace.
  • Strong operational knowledge across food and non-food departments.
  • Track record of improving availability, reducing waste, and managing shrink.
  • Confidence in developing large teams and managing change through leadership and resilience.
  • Experience managing ER cases and understanding HR policies and processes.
  • Strong organisational skills and commitment to excellent customer service.
