Job Description
Operations Manager, Planning & Performance - Rider Supply

Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation, and growth drives everything we do. Our Commercial team sits at the centre of Deliveroo's marketplace-shaping how we serve restaurants, grocers, and new verticals worldwide. From negotiating key partnerships to unlocking new revenue streams and crafting data led growth strategies, we take on big challenges that move the business forward. If you thrive in fast paced, commercial environments and want to influence the future of a global brand-this is the team for you.

We're looking for an Operations Manager, Planning & Performance - Rider Supply to join our London team. This is a hybrid role. In this role, you'll help us shape the performance and stability of our courier network across multiple markets, ensuring strong engagement, sustainable participation, and the right balance of supply to meet evolving demand.

Get to know our Commercial team - what drives us, how we work, and what you can expect.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be joining the Planning & Performance team. We are responsible for ensuring our courier network remains stable, engaged, and responsive across multiple markets. We oversee the lifecycle experience following onboarding, focusing on enabling new couriers to get started successfully and supporting ongoing participation over time.

Here's what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Drive operational lifecycle improvements: Manage and optimise the courier lifecycle experience beyond onboarding, identifying performance gaps and translating them into practical, scalable solutions.
  • Execute data driven strategy: Act as the bridge between analysis and execution by using SQL and large datasets to navigate ambiguity, structure operational problems, and inform prioritisation.
  • Build scalable frameworks: Turn concepts into executable initiatives, designing practical playbooks and mechanisms that drive consistent courier supply performance across international markets.
  • Manage cross functional stakeholders: Align partners across operations, product, analytics, and central teams around shared goals, communicating trade offs clearly to drive adoption of new processes.
  • Iterate and monitor performance: Track network dynamics, identify emerging risks or opportunities, and continuously improve processes with a strong focus on measuring results and evidence based iteration.
What You'll Need to Thrive

Essential

  • Proven operational leadership: Significant experience leading and delivering operational improvements or strategic initiatives in complex, fast paced environments.
  • Strong analytical capability: Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, structure complex problems clearly, and use data to make informed business decisions.
  • Technical proficiency in data: Working knowledge of SQL and comfort working with large datasets to answer business questions, support performance tracking, and learn new technical systems quickly.
  • Stakeholder management: Excellent relationship building skills with a demonstrated ability to align cross functional partners and drive the adoption of new ways of working.
  • Outcome driven mindset: A strong bias for action and delivering visible impact, with a focus on measuring results and iterating based on evidence.

Nice to Have

  • Operational automation skills: Experience using basic automation tools (such as Zapier, smart spreadsheets, or basic scripts) to automate repetitive tasks and build simple systems for high volume operations.
  • Specialised industry experience: Prior experience working within courier, logistics, or gig economy operations.
  • Change and experimentation design: Familiarity with data experimentation, measurement design, and operational change management frameworks.
