Job Description
About the role

The Onboarding team at Addleshaw Goddard helps set new clients up to work with the firm. Their role is to collect key information and make sure everything is correct before any legal work begins. This includes verifying the client, the work they do and ensuring everything complies with rules to prevent money laundering. The team also makes sure all the information is organised so that lawyers can start helping the client quickly.

Functions you will support
  • Conflicts: The Conflicts team checks to make sure that the firm can work for a new client without issues or clashes with other clients.
  • Financial Crime & Sanctions: This team protects the firm from illegal activities such as money laundering and ensures the firm follows rules about working with certain people or countries.
  • Internal Audit: The Internal Audit team makes sure everything is done well and follows the rules, identifying errors or risks.

As an Onboarding Coordinator Apprentice, you will support three functions with a range of administrative tasks. Successful applicants will complete the Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship with BPP.

Typical day

You start your day by reviewing new requests the team has received, deciding who should handle each request and ensuring work is shared fairly.

You spend time talking to other teams in the firm, such as the lawyers (Fee Earners) and Personal Assistants (PAs), to resolve queries or missing information.

You collect information about requests the team has handled and help create simple reports for managers, showing team progress.

At the end of the day you give an update to your team about what still needs attention.

You may help set up information barriers (rules to keep certain information private and separate), avoid conflicts, and occasionally help with compliance questions with support from your supervisors.

You'll learn how to organise work, communicate with different teams, and understand how a law firm stays safe and efficient.

Qualities we look for
  • Good Communication - you can talk and write clearly and ask questions or explain details.
  • Team Player - you enjoy working with others and helping the team achieve its goals.
  • Organised - you keep track of tasks and manage time well, even when things get busy.
  • Problem Solver - you like finding solutions to challenges and are not afraid to try new ways of working.
  • Attention to Detail - you check your work to ensure information is accurate and nothing is missed.
  • Willing to Learn - you are open to learning new skills, including using new technology/AI tools over time.
  • Confidentiality - you understand the importance of keeping information private and safe.
  • Customer Focused - you want to help clients and colleagues, creating a smooth experience.
What you can expect

You can expect a supportive team culture, a flexible, friendly and state of the art working environment, and an attractive salary and benefits package. The first year salary for this role is £21,500.
