Ardal is a procurement collaboration across four local authorities serving the people and communities of Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan. Annual spend on goods, services and works across the four authorities is over £1 billion per annum.
We have an opportunity to join our award-winning team hosted by Cardiff Council as Senior Category Manager.
About the jobAs Senior Category Manager you will be responsible for managing the following category teams and assigned spend category areas:
- Corporate & Transport
- ICT & Professional Services
- Buildings & Estates
- Highways, Waste & Parks
- Social Care and Community Services
- Framework Management
You will also manage delivery of the Contract Forward Plan and provision of advice and support for the assigned spend categories for Cardiff, Monmouthshire, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan Councils. It should be anticipated that the number of local authorities supported could increase.
Ensure that all procurement activity supports the delivery of the Ardal Council's Socially Responsible Procurement Objectives.
Managing the delivery of three regional collaborative frameworks (SEWSCAP, SEWH and SEWTAPS). It should be anticipated that the number of collaborative frameworks supported could increase.
What We Are Looking For From YouWe welcome applications from individuals who are MCIPS qualified (or equivalent) and have extensive experience in public sector procurement and category management. We are looking to appoint a self-motivated individual who will have experience of managing multiple staff and teams and leading projects.
You will be given the necessary management and team support, flexible working, peer review and skill sharing to enable you to successfully undertake your role and develop professionally.
Additional informationA hybrid working environment with an ability and freedom to work on an agile basis both in the office at County Hall in Cardiff Bay and at home.
