About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Export Operator - Ocean Freight to join our growing team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for logistics and freight forwarding to play a key role in managing export shipments and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage ocean export shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and carriers to arrange shipping schedules and negotiate rates.
  • Prepare and process all required shipping and customs documentation accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and trade compliance policies.
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing regular updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to queries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Manage multiple shipments simultaneously while maintaining high levels of accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and effectively manage unforeseen challenges.
About You
  • Proven experience within ocean freight exports, including strong knowledge of export procedures and customs regulations.
  • Familiarity with national and international shipping documentation.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach with a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
  • Self motivated with a high attention to detail.
  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • Experience using CargoWise and/or ASM Sequoia systems.
