We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team in CDNT 2 Ballyboden and CDNT 7 Tymon CHO7.

We are open to recruiting either:

  • One full-time Senior Occupational Therapist (1 WTE) who would split their time between CDNT 2 and CDNT 7.
  • Two part time Senior Occupational Therapists (0.5 WTE each), with each therapist being dedicated to one team (CDNT 2 or CDNT 7).

Contract Type: Permanent.

Contract Hours: 0.5 WTE (17.5 hrs) allocated to each CDNT or 35 hrs.

Salary Scale: €62,072- €73,477 per annum pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI's (Long Service Increments).

Annual Leave Entitlement: 33 days pro rata per annum and proportionately less for less than 12 months service.

Overview of the Post: Enable Ireland delivers children's services through the Children's Disability Network Teams (CDNT) under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a range of Occupational Therapy services for young people (0 - 18 years) and their families within an interdisciplinary framework. Service will include assessment and intervention, clinical supervision and ongoing service development. This will be delivered through a family centred approach across a variety of settings including the clinic, preschools, schools, children's homes and community settings.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification clinical experience.
  • Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
  • Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
  • Maintain annual registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU on appointment and confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland.
  • Minimum of 1 year post qualification experience of working with children with a range of disabilities / developmental delay and their families.
  • Experience in conducting Assessment of Needs.
  • Experience of working with children aged 0 - 18 years and their families.
  • Relevant current experience prescribing and monitoring equipment based on children's needs.
  • Full driving licence with access to own transport.
  • Candidates must have current eligibility to work in the state.
  • Relevant postgraduate training specific to 0 - 18 years, such as Sensory Integration, Assistive Technology, Upper Limb Management of Tone, Splinting, Feeding, Postural Management, etc.
  • Relevant training and experience in the assessment and intervention of children with autism.
  • Experience of supervising basic grade occupational therapists and/or students.
  • 2 or more years working in paediatric services with children with a variety of disabilities and/or complex needs.
  • Experience in conducting Assessment of Needs assessments.
