Job Description
Nursery Assistant - Nursery & EYFS - Sutton

We are looking for caring and proactive individuals to support young children during their vital early stages of development in mainstream primary school settings, children's centres and private nurseries across Sutton, South London.

Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted 1:1 or small group support for pupils across Nursery and EYFS.
  • Support pupils with mild to moderate SEND, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence in learning.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to monitor pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Support the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) or equivalent.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE) or Level 3 Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development (CCLD).
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development or Level 3 Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy - Birth to 7.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Playwork or Level 3 Award/Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS).
Ideal Candidate
  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Have recent experience working in a UK primary school setting.
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 capacity.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, patience and adaptability.
  • Be enthusiastic about supporting children's learning and development.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
Pay

£93 per day for candidates with a minimum of 3 months experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care or SEND setting. £100 per day for candidates who hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have over 12 months previous experience supporting pupils with SEND including ASR, ADHD, SEMH or SLD or experience with personal care.
