Contract Type: Temporary, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
Salary Scale: £34,068 - £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS - Depending on experience)

GSL Education Hull branch are currently searching for a caring and committed Nursery Teacher to work within a specialist educational setting in Scarborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspiring early years professional who is passionate about supporting young children, including those with additional learning needs, through high-quality teaching and child-centred learning experiences.

As a Nursery Teacher, you will deliver stimulating and developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that promote children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will help every child build confidence, independence, and essential early learning skills in a nurturing environment.

Main Responsibilities as a Nursery Teacher
  • Plan and deliver engaging early years activities in line with the EYFS framework, tailored to meet individual learning needs.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and play-based learning.
  • Support children's communication, language, social, emotional, and physical development through structured and child-led activities.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress, using assessments to inform future planning and support.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, parents, carers, and external professionals to support each child's development.
  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence while ensuring the wellbeing and safeguarding of every child.
Nursery Teacher Minimum Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised Early Years teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within an Early Years or Nursery setting, with knowledge of the EYFS framework.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND or additional learning needs is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • A caring, patient, and creative approach to early years education.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
