Job OverviewPlay House Day Nursery, Early Years Leader, Band 5, 37.5 hours per week, Based at Sutton, Surrey. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Early Years Leader to run our baby room and care for the children of staff at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. We require a reliable, flexible member of the team showing initiative and commitment. An ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form will be essential. Applicants must have a minimum Level 5 qualification in Childcare and Education and level A-C in GCSE English. In addition you should have experience of working effectively with a staff team in full day care.
Main Duties of the Job- Manage and supervise a team providing a safe, welcoming, warm environment for the group care of babies, toddlers and pre school children.
- Develop the social, emotional, physical and intellectual capabilities of the child, providing a learning environment with a range of play experiences and activities.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities- Team lead a staff group.
- Be responsible for the nursery in management's absence.
- Carry out performance development reviews with staff, setting objectives and giving constructive support.
- Conduct regular supervisions of staff to monitor development.
- Lead planning and organizing the smooth running of a group room.
- Plan, hold and record team meetings.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare & Education.
- Working towards a higher qualification.
- Early Years Foundation Degree or BA Honours qualification.
- Supervisory or management experience.
- Experience of managing the curriculum.
- Experience of working with children in full day care.
- Experience of working with a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- ICT skills.
- Thorough knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
- Committed and reliable.
