Salary £26,437 FTE (depending on experience and qualifications with
regular pay reviews)

Lunch Cover role: Monday-Friday, 10am-2pm

Our Clerkenwell Mount Day Nursery is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner - Lunch Cover to join our team. You will play a key role in caring for, supporting and inspiring our children, encouraging curiosity and helping them thrive every day.

About Our Nursery Facilities

Our Clerkenwell Mount Nursery is a Grade II listed building, converted from two townhouses, offering spacious rooms, a garden, and nutritious meals. Experienced teachers use these spaces to nurture confidence, curiosity, and essential skills.

Playrooms

Each age group has a dedicated room with age-appropriate resources and activities. The first-floor baby room features sensory play, the top-floor toddler room supports skill development, and the preschool room prepares older children for school.

Garden

The vibrant garden encourages outdoor learning, social interaction, and physical development with a mud kitchen, gardening area, and play equipment. Children enjoy free-flow access for exploration and play.

Location and Travel

Located in the heart of Clerkenwell near Ironmongers' Hall, our nursery is easily accessible for working parents. It's just a short walk from King's Cross Station, Angel Station, and Farringdon Station, with nearby paid street parking for convenient drop-offs and pick-ups.

What will you be doing
  • Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
  • Assume key carer responsibilities for designated children
  • Ensure that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • Prepare and support children's activities
  • In the absence of the Team/Room Leader maintain effective day-to-day management of the environment
  • Contribute to ensuring that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Support and mentor students and un-qualified staff to ensure delivery of high-quality childcare practice
  • Ensure that all staff develop and maintain friendly, professional relationships with parents and carers
