Nursery Kitchen and Domestic Assistant

Overview

Join Childbase Partnership as a Kitchen and Domestic Assistant. Location: Nursery On The Green Day Nursery (80 place setting), Redbourn, AL3 7NB. Contract: Permanent 37.5 hours/week 52 weeks/year. Working pattern: Varied shifts Monday-Friday between 08:30-17:00. Salary: £25,096.50 per annum (pro-rata) £12.87 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Prepare wholesome, healthy meals in line with a set menu using fresh ingredients.
• Contribute to maintaining five-star hygiene standards in the kitchen and sustain a safe environment during domestic duties (re-stocking supplies in bathrooms/kitchens, emptying bins, sweeping and mopping floors, high-level dusting, and laundry duties).
• Support safeguarding: ensure the well-being and dietary needs of every child are met and maintain a safe, hygienic environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, build respectful relationships with children and parents, promote healthy eating, and resume full responsibility for food preparation and cooking tasks in the absence of the Nursery Cook.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Professional catering experience and knowledge of COSHH, allergens, and manual handling.
• Experience working in a professional kitchen environment with a commitment to high hygiene standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively and follow safeguarding practices.
• Must reside within a commutable distance of the nursery and have the Right to Work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
