The Walk In Service hosted by Out Of Hours Primary Care (GMED) service in Aberdeen City is looking to recruit Assistant Dispatchers to support the provision of same day urgent primary care without an appointment. The Service operates 12:00-20:00 Monday to Sunday, including public holidays and festive periods.
Key responsibilities- Support the Walk In Service in providing urgent primary care access.
- Coordinate the use of clinical resources for the service.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and interact with the public and other departments and organisations in a mature, confident manner.
- Operate independently under pressure with accuracy, attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience as a healthcare support worker is an advantage but not required.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while working under pressure.
Fixed term contract for 12 months, with consideration for a permanent appointment. Hours are various over a four week rota and include 12:00-20:00 Monday to Sunday and public holidays.
Pay & benefits- Pay enhancements for working unsocial hours.

Additional information for candidatesFrom 1 April 2026 the Agenda for Change full time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week (with a corresponding increase in hourly rate). Part time hours will be reduced proportionally. The hourly rate will not be affected.
