Key Responsibilities

Lead Policy & Advocacy in Northern Ireland

  • Take the lead on Logistics UK's policy and advocacy work in Northern Ireland, setting direction, identifying priority issues, and passionately championing the interests of our members.
  • Develop deep subject matter expertise across a wide policy landscape, anticipating emerging trends and briefing colleagues to ensure joined up thinking across the organisation.

Shape Thinking & Influence Decision Makers

  • Build and sustain influential relationships with senior government officials, industry leaders, and key stakeholders to shape policy development and inform decision making.
  • Craft persuasive, evidence led policy positions and proposals that lead the debate and clearly reflect member insight and expertise.

Engage, Support & Represent Our Members

  • Lead Logistics UK's Northern Ireland member meetings and working groups, creating a trusted forum for collaboration, constructive debate, and consensus building.
  • Produce high quality reports, consultation responses, briefings and presentations that give powerful voice to our members across a range of audiences.

Be a Confident Public Voice

  • Represent Logistics UK at events, conferences, and member meetings, communicating complex policy issues with clarity, authority and impact.
  • Contribute insight and expertise to media messaging and wider public affairs activity, helping to enhance our profile and influence.

Collaborate to Drive Organisational Impact

  • Provide expert policy support across directorates, ensuring consistency of messaging and alignment with wider organisational objectives.
  • Play an active role in cross functional projects and business wide initiatives, contributing to Logistics UK's long term success.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in a policy or public affairs environment.
  • Relevant industry experience is desirable but not essential or the interest in logistics, transport, supply chains, or a willingness to develop your expertise.
  • Degree educated in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
  • Confidence to represent the organisation externally at senior levels.
  • A collaborative team player who contributes to broader policy, communications, and commercial objectives.
  • Understanding of how public policy is developed and how to influence it effectively.
  • Applicants must be based in Northern Ireland or willing to relocate prior to starting in the role.
  • Willingness to travel across Northern Ireland and occasionally within the wider UK.
