Job Description

The Northern European Commercial Director will be responsible for leading and managing the regional operations, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring the achievement of business objectives within the European market. This role will focus on enhancing the company's market presence, expanding the product portfolio, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. The Northern European Commercial Director leads and drives the commercial performance within the direct markets of the UK, Ireland, and the Nordics to ensure sustainable achievement of strategic business objectives, commercial targets, and financial objectives.

The role will be responsible for maintaining the market share of our core products while developing revenue generated from our customer base and increasing our product offering of existing products. They will identify, select, and launch products to market that are aligned with our strategy, underpinned by 'best in market' technical service and marketing.

This role will report into the EU Commercial Director and be part of the EU Leadership team, supporting strategy and leadership for the overall EU business unit.

Key Role Specific Requirements:
  1. Business Commercial Success
    • Meet or exceed financial business targets (revenue, margin, cost maintenance, EBIT).
    • Take full responsibility for the UK, Ireland, and Nordic regions' P&L.
    • Work closely with EU Commercial Director to ensure market-level strategic and business objectives are met.
    • Proactively seek and convert business opportunities through effective relationship building and development throughout Northern Europe.
    • Ensure business performance aligns with overall business goals, cooperating with country managers.
    • Maintain and grow market share of core products and develop revenue from existing customers and expanding product offerings.
  2. Business Planning
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business goals within Northern Europe.
    • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, ensuring a high level of customer-centric focus.
    • Collaborate with relevant departments for optimal information flow.
    • Support regional customer activity development across Northern Europe, EU, and globally.
  3. Business Development
    • Identify, plan, and exploit new products, brands, or trade opportunities aligned with Bimeda's strategic direction.
    • Develop business alliances and acquisitions.
    • Grow the business organically, focusing on core product categories.
    • Build relationships with key customers, demonstrating expertise and market insight.
    • Build Bimeda's digital presence, including e-commerce and digital marketing initiatives.
    • Identify strategic partnerships/distribution arrangements to accelerate market presence.
  4. Relationship Building
    • Promote open, cooperative, and result-driven communication within the team and across the organization.
    • Work collaboratively with stakeholders and functions to achieve financial and strategic goals.
    • Leverage best practices across Bimeda countries.
    • Treat people fairly, respecting Bimeda's values.
    • Coordinate with R&D/Regulatory Affairs to ensure product supply and registration.
  5. Business Performance Monitoring
    • Report monthly on regional performance.
    • Promote a positive external perception of the business.
    • Develop robust regional business forecasting processes.
    • Maintain professionalism, honesty, confidentiality.
    • Monitor financial performance against budget and implement actions as needed.
  6. Networking
    • Maintain and expand customer networks, including industry bodies and government/regulatory departments.
    • Develop market intelligence and monitor competitor activity.

Other Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in commercial roles, managing P&L, leading teams, with multi-channel market strategy experience. Veterinary pharmaceutical experience is desirable.
  • Education: University degree in veterinary, biology, agricultural science, or business.
  • Behavioral: Self-motivated, collaborative, excellent communicator, able to work under pressure.
