Position Summary:

TÜV Rheinland UK is seeking experienced Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Engineers to join its growing Asset Integrity Management team in Derby. Focused primarily on the Conventional Power and Clean Energy sectors-including CCGT, Biomass, and Energy from Waste plants-these engineers will play a critical role in delivering inspection solutions to TÜV Rheinland's diverse client base. This permanent role offers opportunities for fieldwork, coordination, and technical leadership within an internationally respected company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site inspections of plant equipment, with a focus on steam and water pressure systems.
  • Coordinate and supervise inspection activities during plant outages, liaising with clients and key stakeholders (as qualifications and experience allow).
  • Produce thorough and high-quality inspection reports.
  • Review and approve inspection reports (subject to qualifications and experience).
  • Estimate and manage project costs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices.
  • Operate and ensure appropriate use of inspection equipment and software.
Required Qualifications:
  • Magnetic Particle Testing
  • Penetrant Testing
  • Ultrasonic Testing of Welds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PCN Level 2 in Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing and/or TOFD.
  • PCN Level 3 in any testing method.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
Experience and Skills:
  • Strong hands-on experience inspecting a variety of plant components, particularly steam and water pressure parts, in both new and in-service conditions.
  • Understanding of damage and degradation mechanisms affecting inspected components.
  • Experience in ultrasonic testing of branch connections is advantageous.
  • Track record in outage inspection coordination or supervision, including client and stakeholder communication.
