Job Description

Opticore IT is currently seeking a NOC Engineer to join our NOC team, supporting managed service clients by resolving faults and planning maintenance. This role involves working with a team of engineers to proactively maintain and reactively fix client networks.

The NOC operates in a fast-paced environment, primarily based 3 days a week at our London HQ, with occasional onsite visits to clients for fault resolution.

Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering opportunities across various sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, and Telecommunications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working as a 2nd line Network Support Engineer in our Network Operations Centre.
  • Diagnosing and resolving 2nd line issues within SLAs.
  • Monitoring ticket queues, multitasking, and prioritising tasks.
  • Troubleshooting network problems, identifying root causes, and escalating as needed.
  • Collaborating with the 3rd Line team on complex issues.
  • Administering and maintaining customer infrastructure through change control.
  • Performing RMAs, software upgrades, and patch management across multiple vendors.
  • Creating technical documentation, diagrams, and SOPs, maintaining the company's knowledge base.
  • Supporting service delivery through reporting.

Candidate requirements:

  • Certified CCNA Network Engineer, working towards CCNP.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a network support environment.
  • Experience administering and upgrading Routers, Switches, and Firewalls.
  • Flexibility to participate in on-call rotations, occasional weekend work, and shift patterns from 0700hrs to 2000hrs, Monday to Friday.
  • Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Cisco Meraki.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes such as Change and Incident Management.
