Asda seeks a Night Manager to lead the night team, ensuring the store runs smoothly while others sleep, delivering the best availability and high shop floor standards across all departments, while maintaining safety and legality for customers and colleagues. You will be part of the leadership team, working a rolling rota of 4 nights over 7, including weekend work. You will be solely responsible for the store through the night and will oversee operation as a whole when the store is open 24 hours.
Responsibilities- Manage and lead the night team to keep everything running overnight, ensuring availability and shop floor standards.
- Oversee all store operations during the night shift and ensure the store remains open 24 hours when required.
- Plan and execute all trading activity on the shop floor during night shift, ensuring deliveries are date rotated, and waste and returns are managed, limiting damage through replenishment.
- Lead with impact by coaching night colleagues and team leaders to deliver excellent shopfloor standards and foster a customer-focused culture.
- Ensure the shop floor is landed and presentable for customers before handing over to the day team, with promotions and hotspots fit for trade.
- Develop talent by listening with empathy, driving resilience, encouraging ownership, and supporting team development to create a valued and motivated environment.
- Experience supervising or managing teams in a retail grocery environment, ideally overnight.
- Ability to make decisions independently with a hands-on attitude and a drive to improve processes and people.
- Confidence in developing teams and managing change.
- Strong customer service focus.
