Night Team Member

Permanent, flexible contract. hours per week. £12.71 per hour (applies to all, including those under the age of 21).

YHA York is looking for a Night Team Member to join our vibrant hostel. In this role you will be checking in guests, serving at the bar, cleaning and maintaining our public spaces, conducting end and beginning of day processes, resolving guest issues, serving groups and conducting regular security walks, ensuring the safety of all guests. Working hours will be 10pm 7am and 6pm 3am across the week, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the security of the hostel, making every guest feel safe and welcome.
• Working on reception, providing support to guests and preparing necessary reports.
• Regular inspections to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort.
• Carrying out cleaning duties, helping to prepare the breakfast service, and covering various tasks to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent time keeping, with flexibility to cover different shifts - punctual and able to meet deadlines.
• Basic IT skills (ideally Microsoft Office) - able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• A food safety qualification would be beneficial (desirable).
• Knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA - what YHA does and how we do it.
