Job Description

We are looking for a newly qualified General Practitioner to join theteam at Moss Healthcare.

This role is under the Newly Qualified Salaried GP Additional RolesReimbursement Scheme (ARRS). To be eligible for this role, you must be withintwo years of certificate of completion of training at the start date ofemployment and have not previously held a substantive post as a GeneralPractitioner.

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible forthe provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering anexcellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the practices PMScontract.

Due to clinical need we are looking for GP who has interest/ experienceand ideally a desire to develop a specialism in female health (including coils,ring pessaries and family planning)

Main duties of the job

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Asa salaried GP, you will play a crucial role in the provision of primaryhealthcare services

Undertakesurgery consultations including face-to-face, digital, online, telephone

Thedelivery of highly effective medical care to our population

Workwith patients to support compliance with and adherence to prescribed treatments

Theprovision of services commensurate with the primary care contract

Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidance

Effectivemanagement of long-term conditions

Support patients toadopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and applyprinciples of self-care. Support and manage health needs of patients presentingfor family planning or sexual health consultations

Processing ofadministration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptionrequests and other associated administrative tasks

On a rotational basis,undertake telephone triage and triage doctor roles

Maintain accurateclinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

Work collaboratively,accepting an equal share of the practice workload

Adhere to best practicerecommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

Contributeto the successful implementation of continuous improvement and qualityinitiatives within the practice

About Us:

Moss Healthcare is a large GP practice in the centre of the beautiful spatown of Harrogate, North Yorkshire. We have a patient population of over 20,000patients with our main surgery on Kings Road in Harrogate town centre. We haveone branch, 2 miles from the main site, at the Jennyfield Health Centre. We areone of four practices within the Heart of Harrogate Primary Care Network (PCN).

We have an extensive multi-disciplinary team that includes seven GPpartners, four Salaried GPs, three ANPs, and a regular cycle of GP registrars.The surgery is a teaching and training practice, so it supports numeroustrainee doctors and medical students throughout the year.

There is a team of practice nurses, healthcare assistants, advanced nursepractitioners, first contact physiotherapists, mental health practitioners,social prescribers as well as clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians andprescription clerks. There is a Business Manager who is supported by anOperations Management Team, including both receptionists, administrators andmedical secretaries.

JOB SUMMARY

This post holder will work as one of a teamof GPs and nurses delivering general practice services to non-registered andregistered patients at the practice (Moss Healthcare Harrogate). At all timesthe postholder must act in a manner consistent with the code of conduct andappearance representing the practice and the NHS.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CLINICAL DUTIES

Range of generalpractice consultations: Telephone, face to face, Accurx triage, including homevisits, urgent and non-urgent appointments for registered and unregisteredpatients.

Overseeing andparticipating in chronic disease management.

MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION

Work as part of ateam to ensure QOF targets are met.

Participate inweekly multidisciplinary team meetings.

Liaison and workwith voluntary agencies and multi-disciplinary teams.

Participate inaudit of clinical and patient services.

Participate infurther development of the service.

TEACHING AND TRAINING

Possible involvementin teaching of medical students, student nurses, pharmacists and other healthprofessionals attached to the practice.

Assisting thepractice in maintaining GP training status.

GENERAL DUTIES

To attend allmandatory training courses and any specific to your role as discussed with yourclinical lead.

To attend regularclinical team meetings.

To follow practicepolicies and procedures as laid out in Moss Healthcare's Terms and Conditionsand induction/staff employment policy.

To attendperformance and development reviews (PDRs) with your clinical lead as laid outin the PDR guidelines.

Maintaining regularconsistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance andadherence to relevant health and safety.
