Role Overview

The Network Engineer will be responsible for:

• Designing and delivering a new multi-site virtualised hosting service.
• Contributing to the definition, scoping, and planning of all Programme Increments (PIs).
• Providing technical insight and guidance throughout the design and implementation life cycle.
• Ensuring effective knowledge transfer to the permanent hosting team during the service transition phase.

Key Deliverables

The service is expected to deliver the following:

1. Design and build network solutions to support VMware VCF deployments, covering IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS use cases.
2. Implement an upgraded Spine and Leaf architecture, including perimeter edge data centre networking.
3. Support the design and implementation of cross-domain connectivity solutions.
4. Produce detailed build documentation and operational support materials as required.

Capability Requirements

• Proven experience designing network solutions for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
• Strong knowledge of Spine and Leaf architectures using VXLAN BGP EVPN.
• Experience delivering greenfield builds or migrating traditional networks to VXLAN BGP EVPN fabrics.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (formerly DCNM).
• Expertise with Cisco Nexus 9000 series Switches (NX-OS) and BGP routing.
• Experience with VMware NSX-T Data Center.
• Knowledge of VMware vCloud Director networking.
• Ability to produce Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.
• Experience with Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller template design.
