Neighbourhood Officer - Manchester

£24-£26 per hour (Umbrella)
35 hours per week
Contract until end of May (rolling extension thereafter)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Neighbourhood Officer to join a busy social housing team in Manchester. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and be confident managing a patch, delivering key performance targets, and providing high quality services to residents. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a designated housing patch, delivering key KPIs including tenancy sustainment, void turnaround, estate inspections, and case resolution times
  • Respond to tenancy breaches, ASB reports, and safeguarding concerns, taking appropriate enforcement or support based action
  • Conduct regular estate inspections, identifying repairs, health and safety issues, and ensuring timely follow up
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and external agencies to resolve complex tenancy and community issues
  • Maintain accurate case records and performance data, ensuring compliance with organisational and statutory requirements
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Neighbourhood Officer, Housing Officer, or similar role within social housing
  • Strong understanding of tenancy management, ASB processes, safeguarding, and housing legislation
  • Ability to work to KPIs and performance targets in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload
