Job Description
part time NEC4 Construction Project Manager | Contract role | Glasgow
Harvey Nash's Client is looking for an NEC4 Construction Project Manager for an interim contract. This will be on a part time basis.
Main Responsibilities
- Taking the role of PM and undertaking management of the NEC ECC construction contract in accordance with the NEC4 Conditions of Contract including communications (instructions, certificates, submission, proposal, record, acceptance, notification, reply) on behalf of the Client.
- Issuing and managing early warnings and compensation event process in accordance with the NEC4 ECC Conditions of Contract.
- Set up and maintain a Risk Register for the project.
- Attendance at pre-start meetings. Chairing/minuting monthly meetings and liaise with the Principal Contractor, Client and any other parties (such as utilities) to facilitate the smooth running of the project. Prepare progress update report to the Client each month.
- Record quantities and activity progress in order to check and assess contractor's applications and provide certification of contractor's payments prior to Client's approval.
- Cost reporting and Final Account.
- PM duties for maintenance period, final inspections and certification.
- Manage and input data for the contract period using CEMAR. Attend CEMAR training if required.
Key Skills
- The Project Manager must have a civil engineering degree qualification (ideally chartered member of the Institution of Civil engineers) with a minimum of 10 years construction management experience in similar value civil engineering projects. Their NEC4 qualification and CSCS card must be up to date, have good communication skills and problem-solving skills which is demonstrated in their CVs, which is required to be submitted to the Client for approval. If the PM is to be replaced this must be submitted for approval.
- The Project Managers work is completed under relevant standards including:
- British standards,
- EU standards,
- Statutory requirements,
- Relevant Client procedural standing orders and financial regulations provided by the Client in advance of appointment,
- Good Industry Practice,
- Health and safety legislation,
- any Client policies or guidance relating to the work provided by the Client in advance of appointment, and any other requirements specified by the Client in this Scope.
- The Project Manager is required to perform the Services while based at the Exxon site office.
- The Project Manager and Site Supervisor shall provide the Services having due regard to the reasonable health, safety and security requirements of the Site which are notified in advance. Prior to the commencement of any Services at a relevant site, the Project Manager and Site Supervisor undertakes that his staff receive adequate training in health and safety procedures and the use of the necessary personal safety equipment for undertaking the Services.
- The Project Manager and Site Supervisor will be responsible for requesting any permissions or approvals required from Others necessary to carry out the Services.
- It is expected that The Project Manager report and seek permission of approval from the Clients Service Manager for all change related to the programme which affects the critical path in the latest approved Programme and for all change above £2.000.
- The Project Manager and Site Supervisor complies with all legislative and statutory requirements relating to the type of Services undertaken in this Scope.
- Data and file transfer between the Project Manager and Site Supervisor and the Client may be undertaken electronically, with the appropriate information and specific arrangements stated within the Scope.
