Grocery National Account Manager Hybrid working Full time Fixed Term 12 Months Dublin
We are looking for a retail distributor focused on Grocery as a National Account Manager who enjoys autonomy, strategic thinking and delivering consistent commercial results. About the roleYou will manage, lead and develop business across a portfolio of multiple and regional grocery accounts specifically Aldi, Tesco and Dunnes. Your work will influence both customer plans and internal brand and category strategies, helping shape how our products perform in the market. You will lead Joint Business Plans that align with account strategies, unlock commercial opportunities and support company objectives. Insight will be a key part of your approach, using business analytics, category data and market trends to influence internal and external decisions.
Planning and Management- Manage and develop business across assigned national and regional grocery accounts.
- Lead development of Joint Business Plans that align to customer strategies and brand priorities.
- Use analytics, category insights and customer systems to influence decision making.
- Secure promotional activity and new product listings across all relevant customers.
- Ensure agreed plans are executed with excellence both online and in store.
- Lead cost price increase negotiations and deliver optimum outcomes.
- Deliver NSV, profit and KPI targets across all assigned customers.
- Monitor performance monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annually.
- Track market share, sales growth and profitability and act on variances.
- Provide accurate volume and value forecasts to ensure stock availability.
- Maintain up to date records on trading terms, policies and account information.
- Manage promotional budgets and identify opportunities to improve ROI.
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends and recommend alternative strategies.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and attend customer review meetings.
- Carry out additional tasks aligned to the role as required.
- 3 to 5 years National Account Management experience in a fast paced organisation.
- Experience working with buyers in Irish multiple grocery retailers such as Dunnes, Aldi, SuperValu or Tesco at head office level.
- Proven success developing Joint Business Plans driven by category and shopper insight.
- Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence external partners.
- Understanding of financial performance measures such as ROI and promotional evaluation.
- Solid knowledge of category management principles.
- Strong analytical capability and ability to interpret sales data and forecast accurately.
- Intermediate Excel skills for analysis and trend identification.
- Intermediate PowerPoint capability for customer and internal presentations.
- Awareness of external economic and political influences shaping the industry.
- Good general education including Maths and English.
- A business related third level qualification is helpful but not essential.
