Job Description

Flourish Education is currently recruiting for a passionate and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Bromsgrove from September 2026. The role will initially be offered on a 3-day-per-week basis, with the potential for the position to increase to full-time after Christmas, making this an excellent opportunity for a teacher looking for flexibility with the possibility of a longer-term commitment.

The school is seeking a creative and committed Music Teacher who can inspire students through engaging practical and theoretical lessons. You will have the opportunity to work with pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping them develop their musical knowledge, performance skills and confidence.

This position would suit an experienced Music Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) who is looking to join a supportive department and make a positive contribution to students' learning and development.

Job Role:
  • Plan and deliver enjoyable and purposeful Music lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Develop students' understanding of musical theory, composition and performance
  • Use a variety of teaching approaches to engage students with different abilities and interests
  • Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback to support development
  • Encourage pupils to participate confidently in practical and performance-based activities
  • Maintain positive behaviour and high expectations within the classroom
  • Work alongside colleagues to contribute to the wider Music and Performing Arts provision
  • Support students in developing both their academic knowledge and creative skills
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT)
  • Experience teaching Music within a secondary school setting
  • Strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Music curriculum
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Music and the Performing Arts
  • Ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
  • A flexible approach to teaching and willingness to contribute to the wider school community
Benefits:
  • Pay from £174.71 to £240.70 per day, equivalent to £34,068 to £46,937 based on a full-time position across a full school year, dependent on experience (M1-M6)

This Music Teacher position is based in Bromsgrove and is easily accessible from surrounding areas including Redditch, Worcester, Birmingham, Solihull, Rubery, Droitwich Spa, Kidderminster and the wider Worcestershire area.
