Multiskilled Engineer

Location: Batley, Kirklees, West Yorkshire

Join our Mars Petcare factory team! Utilize your skills and develop new ones through comprehensive training. Focus on machine maintenance including flow wrapping, robotics, and packaging machinery.

Work with a team under the Engineering Team Leader to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. Take ownership of areas and drive continuous improvement using digital tools. Embody Mars' five principles: Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom.

What are we looking for?

• Strong engineering background with a recognized apprenticeship
• HNC in electrical engineering and mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of 415v distribution, motor control, PLC software, process control, and networks; pneumatics & hydraulics are a plus
• Understanding of electromechanical devices
• Knowledge of H&S regulations
• Computer literacy, familiar with software like Atlas PM, SAP, Microsoft
• FMCG experience desirable
• Experience with Rockwell PLC fault diagnosis is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and resolve failures on machinery, identify root causes
• Decide when to escalate issues to support
• Provide technical support and expertise
• Ensure safe delivery of utilities during shifts
• Plan maintenance activities to ensure smooth operations
• Coordinate with the area engineer on preventative maintenance
