Motor Desktop Engineer

We're looking for a Desktop Motor Engineer to join our Engineering team and play a key role in being responsible for engineering estimates in a timely manner specific to the requirements of the client, to check and confirm the cost we are authorising is fair, reasonable and related to the incident in question.

Key responsibilities
- Check incident circumstances against work estimated for to see if the damage could be related to the incident.
- Check estimated costs are fair and reasonable.
- Check estimates are within customer specific rates if a network repairer has been allocated.
- Amend estimates to correct customer specific rates if a network repairer has been allocated.
- Negotiate with non-network repairers in order to bring inflated costs down.
- Authorise incident related work to repairers.
- Correctly value vehicles for total losses.
Skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years motor engineer or Bodyshop experience.
- IMI VDA Accredited.
- Experience of using Audatex and the Case Management System.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal / written communication.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Obtain a AQP & IAEA qualification.
