Mockingbird Liaison and Recruitment Worker - Fostering Team
Salary: £38,256 - £39,276 per year • Location: Redbridge • Contract: 1-year fixed term; Permanent
The roleRedbridge Council is seeking a dedicated Mockingbird Liaison and Recruitment Worker to join our Fostering Team. This role is key in supporting our Mockingbird hub home foster carers and their satellite carers, ensuring children in care receive consistent, high-quality support. You will also play an important part in recruitment activities across the fostering service.
- Maintaining regular contact with hub carers and satellite foster carers to support participation in activities, monthly meetings, training, and respite care.
- Assisting in planning and coordinating Mockingbird activities and social events.
- Supporting recruitment efforts, including Skills to Foster preparation training, applications, approvals, and events.
- Creating social media content and coordinating foster carer events.
- Collaborating with colleagues to advocate for the needs of the constellation and promote the voice of the child.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with children, young people, families, and professionals.
- Experience working with children, young people, and families.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Energetic, sociable, creative, and solution-focused.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.
- Recognised qualification or experience in social work, childcare, or related fields.
- Experience in coaching, training, or supporting others.
- Experience managing sensitive or challenging situations.
- Understanding of the Mockingbird model is desirable.
- Competent in using MS applications and maintaining accurate records.
