Job Description
Overview

Demonstrable interest and skill in manipulating data with SQL, Excel or similar.

Job responsibilities
  • The post holder will be involved in the development, maintenance, and support of business intelligence systems and database systems.
  • Identify sources of data in client organisations, understand them in discussion with business people, and prepare them for reporting.
  • Engage with clients to design viable delivery models, deliver on data-related projects, and support users as we go.
  • Mentor and engage with more junior and peer team members, with potential to rise to a team leader level.
  • Contribute to a consultancy environment that moves from project to project and partners with enterprise clients on BI and data issues (data engineering, data warehouses, SQL, ETL, Data Lakes, Azure, ADF, SSIS, Synapse, Power BI, Fabric, etc.).
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience solving data problems and working with data engineering concepts.
  • Exposure to end users and clients, and some commercial awareness of client pressures.
  • Ability to listen, understand, structure problems around data, and articulate solutions to business stakeholders.
  • Willingness to mentor others and engage in team development; potential to assume team leadership.
Place of work

Normal place of work will be Village's offices in the commercial district of Liverpool next to Moorfield station. Occasional client-based work in Merseyside or further afield may occur. Most interaction is in-office; remote-first hybrid arrangements are not the norm for this role.
