Microbiology Supervisor

We are recruiting a Microbiology Supervisor to join our clients team in Killybegs, Donegal on a permanent contract.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and maintain the laboratory Quality Management System in line with ISO 17025 requirements.
• Manage quality documentation, accreditation activities, and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.
• Act as the primary contact during external audits and coordinate internal audit programmes and management reviews.
• Lead, coach and support a team of laboratory technicians, ensuring training and competency requirements are achieved.
• Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring customer requirements, testing standards and reporting accuracy are consistently met.
• Drive continuous improvement through quality metrics, corrective actions and supplier performance management.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules and quality records to support operational excellence.

Requirements:

• NFQ Level 8 qualification in Science or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years' experience in a laboratory quality role, ideally within microbiology or chemistry.
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 17025 and accredited laboratory environments.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong IT skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
