Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Microbiology Administrative Support within our Microbiology Department based at University Hospital Crosshouse. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours:

22.5 hours per week.

What you will do:

The post holder will provide comprehensive, confidential, administrative support to the Microbiology Management Team, Consultant Team and other members of the department over the whole range of the post holder duties, demonstrating a committed and flexible approach to the work environment ensuring all deadlines are met.

The role involves dealing with telephone and face to face enquiries from across all staff groups including senior managers and consultants. Providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate, compiling letters, minute taking, summarising data when required, entering data onto Microbiology systems, quality audit support, filing as appropriate and responding to a wide range of communications.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required for this post:

The post holder should be an enthusiastic and motivated individual, educated to SVQ Level III in Business Administration or equivalent knowledge based experience.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran may be able to offer visa sponsorship for certain roles, provided the post meets the minimum salary threshold and any other required criteria. When considering if a post meets the salary threshold for sponsorship, please note the salary advertised is based on a full time contract and must be pro rated for part time positions. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and is assessed on a case by case basis following interview and at the commencement of pre employment checks.
