We are hiring for our client, a forward-thinking organisation leading Northern Ireland's energy transformation. They are seeking a Metering, Protection & Power Systems Transient Analysis Senior Engineer to join their specialist team in Belfast (Hybrid). As part of a technically advanced and collaborative team, you will take ownership of metering performance, protection policy compliance, and the transient analysis of system events across a dynamic and evolving grid. The successful candidate will use advanced coding and analytical skills to investigate power system behaviour, inform operational policy, and help shape the infrastructure of tomorrow.

Day-to-day oversight of grid metering systems, including fault management and installations
Lead the compliance and continual improvement of grid protection policies
Investigate and report on grid disturbances and transient events
Analyse high-speed data (oscillations, harmonics, etc.) using advanced coding/scripting
Engage in European reporting standards and coordinate with ENTSO-E
Influence control room operations through policy and tool development
Collaborate closely with NIEN, EirGrid, and other system stakeholders
Develop and present complex technical reports for senior internal and external stakeholders
Mentor colleagues and champion a collaborative, problem-solving team environment
A degree in Electrical Engineering or related power systems discipline
Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in metering, protection, or transient grid analysis
Skilled in data extraction, scripting/coding, and advanced Excel usage
Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills under pressure
Proven communicator, capable of translating technical detail for a wide audience
Highly collaborative with the ability to build strong relationships across functions
Experience with PI Vision or advanced power system analysis (desirable)
Higher-level degree in a relevant area (desirable)
