Mergers and Acquisitions Consultant
Posted 19 minutes 45 seconds ago by Nextview Consulting
As a M&A Consultant / Financial Analyst, you will play a central role in supporting and driving Nextview's acquisition strategy across Europe. This is a hybrid position that blends core M&A consulting responsibilities with broader financial analysis work, offering an exciting opportunity to further develop your analytical and commercial skill set.
The role is designed for someone who already brings hands-on experience in M&A, especially in due diligence, valuation, and financial modelling, while also being eager to expand their capabilities within a broader financial analyst context. Over the next years, Nextview anticipates completing 1-2 acquisitions, with additional opportunities emerging as part of our long-term growth vision. You will collaborate closely with our internal finance team and external M&A advisors (activated at later transactional stages), ensuring you are fully involved without needing to independently lead the entire end-to-end process.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Your time will be split roughly 50% on M&A work and 50% on financial analysis and ad-hoc strategic projects , giving you a diverse and challenging scope.
M&A Focus (approx. 50%)
- Conduct financial analysis, valuation, and due diligence for potential acquisition targets.
- Perform DCF analyses, comparable company analyses (CCA), and precedent transaction analyses (PTA).
- Assist in monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify potential acquisition opportunities across EU markets.
- Prepare presentations, investment memorandums, and decision-making materials for leadership.
- Contribute to the assessment and refinement of strategic growth opportunities as we expand our European footprint.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including legal, operations, and leadership to support acquisition execution.
- Partner with our external M&A advisors during later transaction phases.
Financial Analysis & Strategic Support (approx. 50%)
- Support day-to-day and ad-hoc financial analysis across the business.
- Build and maintain financial models to support forecasting, strategic decisions, and investment considerations.
- Provide insights that help leadership understand financial implications of business initiatives.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure high-quality, data-driven decision-making.
ABOUT YOU
You are someone who combines strong analytical capabilities with the curiosity and drive to explore a broad range of financial and strategic challenges. You enjoy the fast-paced nature of M&A work but also value having a varied scope that lets you grow beyond pure transactional responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of work experience , ideally blending financial analysis with hands-on M&A consulting exposure - particularly in valuation, modelling, and due diligence.
- Proven experience working with financial models and supporting strategic recommendations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into clear insights.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, able to tailor messaging to both financial and non-financial audiences.
- Language skills: Dutch is a nice-to-have; German or Swedish would be an advantage but not essential.
- Based in the Netherlands, ideally with the ability to be in Eindhoven two days per week.
