Job Description
The Role

As Member Services Officer, you will provide first-line support to credit union members by handling their enquiries and ensuring excellent service, working across all member areas within the member service team.

Reporting

To the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide information services to members by phone, email and online.
  • Respond to all incoming enquiries and proactively support members in all areas, at all times providing excellent member service.
  • Take ownership of every member interaction to ensure enquiries and issues are resolved to the satisfaction of the member and the business.
  • Explain credit union products and services as well as provide guidance on sources of information to empower members to self-serve.
  • Adhere to the call process.
  • Through training, develop excellence in dealing with member queries to the highest levels of service across diverse areas such as membership, lending, payment administration, and online services.
  • Accurately and diligently process member transactions, reconcile balances and account for any inconsistencies.
  • Ensure compliance with policies & procedures, as outlined by the Risk, Compliance, MLRO & DSO, the Internal Audit Function and Operations Manager.
  • Provide cover for other key areas within the context of a small team and a collaborative effort to ensure cover is in place for all member service areas.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of member services.
  • Collaborate, be collegiate, courteous, helpful and professional in all interactions with members and colleagues.
Person Requirements

Experience in providing customer service and enjoying doing so is essential for this role. Experience in the financial services sector or in roles where you were dealing with customers and helping them with financial transactions would be ideal.

  • Passion and ability to provide excellent service to members every day.
  • The ability to be a team player in the member services team.
  • Understanding and empathy when dealing with members.
  • The ability to have good rapport, friendly and professional relationships with members.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in work, getting things right.
  • Ability to be compliant with credit union procedures.
  • The ability to work at a good pace in a busy working environment.
  • Good computer literacy. Experience with Outlook/email, Excel, Word and other systems for servicing members.
Contract Duration and Hours

This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday. The contract is for one-year with a possibility to renew.

Location

The role is on-site in the credit union's office at Ballymount.

Hybrid Working

Employees can work 1-day a week at home. For new starters, this would apply when upon successful completion of probation.
