Medical Secretary - Endoscopy

Join our dedicated endoscopy practice as a Medical Secretary and play a key role in delivering compassionate, efficient care to our patients. This role requires a compassionate and responsible individual who can help manage the day to day running of the Consultant's practice, with responsibility for administration tasks, operational efficiencies, and customer service.
The successful candidate will be flexible, a team player, and have a professional manner focused on patient service. This role in a modern practice will suit someone who is comfortable multi tasking and enjoys working in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a friendly, courteous, and efficient reception service.
- Schedule appointments and maintain the Consultant's diary.
- Organise the daily patient list and draw the relevant files.
- Order office supplies and oversee the maintenance of office equipment.
- Organise meetings and take minutes.
- Respond to queries from patients.
- Maintain accurate and up to date patient records.
- Type letters, clinical reports and transcriptions and update databases and spreadsheets.
- Maintain total confidentiality of personal and financial data.
- Manage finances, including billing.
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in an acute setting and strong audiotyping skills.
- Hold a relevant secretarial or business qualification and have achieved an excellent level of proficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and the ability to work on one's own initiative.
- Excellent technical ability with MS Word, Excel, and similar IT software.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven experience dealing with confidential information and understanding GDPR.
- Experience working with a patient management system and/or in a healthcare environment is a distinct advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast paced office environment.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team as well as on one's own initiative.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is a pre requisite.
Location: Consultants' private clinic in Cork. Some flexibility is required with working hours to meet business demands and to cover holidays and general leave.
