At Birmingham Hospice, our teams are committed to improving the quality of life for people living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families and loved ones during one of the most challenging periods they will ever face.
This is an excellent opportunity for a medical professional with extensive demonstrable leadership experience to join a value-driven organization that supports people requiring specialist palliative and end-of-life care.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will be a highly competent, diligent, and compassionate individual with prior expertise in a senior medical position in the charity sector, NHS, or similar organization. You will demonstrate strong values of kindness, respect, positivity, togetherness, openness, and innovation.
You will lead the Medical Team, responsible for the safe and effective medical care of all patients. You will contribute to strategic planning and direction, providing positive, visible, and dynamic leadership in the clinical operational management of the hospice. You should be a confident people manager with proven ability to inspire and empower others, contributing to the daily operations and strategic future of the charity as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Requirements:

- Documented inclusion in the Special Register or equivalent evidence of higher-level experience in end-of-life/palliative care.
Come join us, and together, we can make every moment matter.
At Birmingham Hospice, if you join from the NHS or another hospice, we will honor your continuous previous service regarding pension provision and annual leave.
"After I saw the care my dad received at the hospice, I knew I wanted to work there."
Barbara Bennett, a Healthcare Assistant at Birmingham Hospice's Erdington site, was inspired to join after witnessing the expert palliative care her father received.
Having worked in healthcare for 30 years, Barbara decided to transition into palliative and end-of-life care after caring for her father diagnosed with heart failure, kidney failure, and dementia.
The hospice is committed to developing a diverse team representative of the communities it serves. We encourage you to complete the Equal Opportunities monitoring form to support this aim.
