Head Office near Manchester Airport offers great public transport links, free parking and free charging for electric vehicles. We offer hybrid working of three days in Heald Green and two days from home as part of our SMART Working Policy.

This is what you will do

The role will support and collaborate with the Medical Team in delivering the strategic medical plan for the allocated therapy area(s) and work in collaboration with them to deliver operational excellence of the UK and Ireland (UKI) Medical Affairs team.

You will be responsible for Medical Information
  • Maintain expert knowledge of specified product(s) and therapy area(s) and attend conferences and educational meetings.
  • Provide Medical Information responses to HCP questions ranging from simple queries to complex queries requiring literature searches.
  • Create, manage and review standard responses and frequently asked questions.
  • Ensure Pharmacovigilance requirements are met when processing enquiries.
  • Conduct regular literature searches for the Chiesi portfolio and competitor intelligence; summarise information in a pre agreed template and circulate to the matrix team.
  • Maintain up to date prescribing information for all relevant products.
Medical Affairs
  • Develop and maintain in depth knowledge of relevant products and disease area(s) to act as an expert medical resource.
  • Attend national and international scientific meetings to keep up to date knowledge, gather competitive intelligence and respond to HCP enquiries.
  • Support Medical Science Liaison activities on an ad hoc basis.
  • Support development and maintenance of scientific and clinical presentations for assigned therapeutic area(s).
  • Provide support to the Learning & Development team for delivery of clinical data at ITCs.
  • Attend brand team and concept meetings as part of a cross functional matrix team.
  • Deliver technical reviews of materials and activities on the internal approval system according to the ABPI Code of Practice; develop proficiency as a medical reviewer.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the UK Medical Affairs strategic plan and support projects as requested.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, internal processes and Pharmacovigilance rules.
  • Ensure all activities comply, global and national laws, regulations, guidelines and the ABPI Code of Practice.
You will need to have

A scientific background in medical or biological science is essential, preferably a GMC registered doctor, GPhC registered pharmacist or a PhD/Masters. You should be confident in communication and interpersonal skills with at least basic customer service experience, and possess high literacy, detailed attention and accuracy.

  • Medical / pharmacy degree or PhD preferable; a BSc with industry experience acceptable.
  • Good working knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Excellent oral and written communication with customers at all levels.
  • Ability to travel within the UK and Ireland, including domestic and international conferences; occasional weekend travel required.
