Mechanical Technician

Our client are looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to join their site in Pencoed. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling components for automated production equipment, culminating in the installation, debugging, performance evaluation, and handover to the Production Engineering Team. This role is offering a salary of up to 28,000.

• Manufacture component parts in workshops.
• Assemble mechanical and electrical components.
• Contribute to product design with a focus on manufacturability (DFM).
• Explore mechanical and electrical solutions.
• Perform maintenance on equipment within the machine shops.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and ensure safety standards are met.

• Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering; knowledge of Electrical Engineering is advantageous.
• Proficiency in using various machining equipment, such as lathes and milling machines.
• Familiarity with electronics or electrical control systems.
• Willingness to learn PLC programming (training will be provided).
• General technology proficiency.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and possess strong communication skills.
• Strong sense of accountability and flexibility to support the operation's general needs.
