Typhoon Mechanical Supervisor

£32.00 PAYE / £43.00 Umbrella per hour

Morson Talent is seeking an experienced Typhoon Mechanical Supervisor for a long-term contract at RAF Coningsby.

The post holder will be a skilled technician performing detailed maintenance activities on aircraft or aircraft components, demonstrating diagnostic techniques and ensuring airworthiness through task delegation and authorization.

Responsibilities include task management, personnel supervision, meeting delivery targets, and demonstrating leadership and people management skills. The role requires awareness of external dependencies and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Maintenance Manager and Team Leader in managing customer output.
  • Maintain aircraft according to the Statement of Work, ensuring delivery to schedule, standard, and quality.
  • Ensure all maintenance meets airworthiness standards, promotes flight safety, and complies with the airworthiness framework.
  • Perform maintenance tasks using approved data and tools, ensuring proper documentation and addressing issues.
  • Attend Engineering Management meetings.
  • Support and deputize for the Team Leader as needed.
  • Manage the day-to-day people leadership of the team, ensuring compliance with policies, safety, and environmental standards.
Candidate Requirements
  • Knowledge of quality procedures, processes, and specifications; MAA (KR 640) experience essential.
  • Experience with Resolve and raising System Enquiries.
  • Knowledge of scheduled servicing and EVM techniques.
  • Expertise in Maintenance documentation and associated tools.
  • Broad technical knowledge and leadership experience.
  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent, preferably in Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Aircraft platform training and education to ONC level or equivalent military training.
Additional Information

Working hours are on base, Monday to Friday, with core hours from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (Monday to Thursday) and 7:30 am to 12:00 pm (Friday). The workweek is 37 hours, with possible shift work, including day and night shifts. Lunch breaks are 30 minutes, and start/finish times are flexible within core hours.
