Mechanical Site Manager

We are recruiting for the following freelance role in Bristol.

Required: Mechanical Site Manager

Sector: Construction & Building Services

Location: Bristol (BS4)

CIS Pay rate: up to £350p/day

Duration: at least 10 months.

Project: commercial new build project, circa £7m M&E services & plant

Start Date: ideally July 2025

Payments: weekly

Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Site Manager

Lead and manage day-to-day site activities, ensuring the mechanical services & packages of work are delivered on

time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Coordinate mechanical works, including the installation of heating, plumbing, ductwork, air conditioning systems, and

all associated plant room equipment.

Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety regulations on site, fostering a safe working environment for all personnel.

Oversee and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and the site workforce.

Liaise directly with clients and the senior management team, providing regular progress updates and addressing any

concerns or changes in scope.

Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring efficient project delivery.

Problem-solve on site and maintain smooth operations in live environments with minimal disruption to building

occupants.

Requirements for the Mechanical Site Manager:

Mechanical bias with significant experience on commercial projects (offices, healthcare, education, defence etc)

Proven track record of managing mechanical installations, including ductwork, HVAC systems, and boiler plant rooms.

Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations and best practices.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and

internal teams.

Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage complex, fast-paced projects.

Essential Qualifications required:

SMSTS

First Aid at Work (3 days)

Blue/Gold CSCS JIB or Engineering Skillcard or Black Site Manager's CSCS Card

NVQ Level 3 Plumbing/Heating/Mechanical Engineering (NVQ Level 2 is acceptable if you have NVQ Level 6 Construction Site Management).

You will be working with one of the largest national M&E contractors in the UK who have a comprehensive, professional

and strong project, commercial and health & safety team to support you. Following on from this project there is another

major project within the region.
