Job Description
Job Responsibilities
  • System Design: Design and develop comprehensive fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and suppression systems, tailored to the specific requirements of each project.
  • Consulting: Provide expert advice and solutions on fire protection system integration and performance for various building types, including commercial, residential, and industrial properties.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all fire protection designs meet or exceed local, state, and national codes and standards, including NFPA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate fire protection systems into overall building designs, ensuring seamless coordination and functionality.
  • Technical Analysis: Perform technical analysis and simulations to validate fire protection system performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize effectiveness.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports, and maintain accurate records of all fire protection system designs and modifications.
  • Testing and Inspection: Oversee the testing, inspection, and commissioning of fire protection systems to verify compliance with design specifications and operational effectiveness.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues related to fire protection systems, providing innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide updates on project progress, and address any concerns related to fire protection systems.
Job Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and managing fire protection systems within a consulting building services design environment.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of fire protection system design principles, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to non technical stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects
