An established building services consultancy is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team. The successful candidate will have full working rights in Ireland, and have a MINIMUM of 3 years experience in building services design (manufacturing, automotive, oil & gas and R&D are not relevant here).
This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects, develop client relationships, and progress within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water, and drainage.
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and design drawings.
- Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Attend client, design, and site meetings as required.
- Support project delivery through all design stages.
- Undertake site inspections and monitor installation compliance.
- Ensure designs meet relevant regulations, standards, and sustainability objectives.
- Assist with technical problem-solving and value engineering exercises.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in building services/mechanical design engineering.
- Experience using industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services design principles.
- Knowledge of current Irish and/or UK building regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage workload across multiple projects.
