Salary Scale: £34,068 to £52,834 per annum (MPS/UPS)

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently recruiting for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Maths Teacher to work within a supportive secondary school environment in York. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed educator who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain high expectations, and create a positive learning environment.

About the Role

As a Maths Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons across the secondary Maths curriculum, helping students develop strong mathematical understanding, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. You will encourage students to approach challenges with confidence while adapting your teaching to meet different abilities and learning needs.

Core Responsibilities of the Maths Teacher:

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Maths lessons aligned with curriculum requirements.
• Develop students' mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and application of knowledge.
• Differentiate teaching and learning activities to support students with varying abilities and needs.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive, purposeful classroom environment.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support students' academic progress and wider development.

As the Ideal Maths Teacher, You Should Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching Maths across the secondary age range.
• Previous experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school setting.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies and differentiate effectively for individual learning needs.
• A passionate, reflective, and student-focused approach to teaching and learning.

To Work with GSL Education, You Must:

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Provide an up-to-date CV and references covering the last 2 years.
• Have recent experience working with children or young people.
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
