Salary: £130-£220 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Long-Term/ Day-to-day, Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Mathematics Teacher to work with a school in Wakefield (WF1). This role offers the opportunity to create purposeful lessons, strengthen pupils' mathematical understanding and encourage them to approach problem-solving with confidence.
Responsibilities of a Maths Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons across the relevant curriculum.
- Explain mathematical concepts clearly using suitable examples and resources.
- Differentiate activities to support a range of abilities and learning needs.
- Monitor progress and use assessment to inform future teaching.
- A maths teacher should promote logical thinking, problem-solving and independent learning.
- Maintain positive behaviour and high classroom expectations.
- Work with co-workers to support students' academic progress.
Requirements for the Mathematics Teacher role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching Maths.
- Previous school-based teaching experience is desirable.
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to motivate students and build positive relationships.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
