Location: Southampton
Salary: £30 P/H
Contract: Temporary - Full Time
Start Date: August/September
We are currently working with a well-established Further Education College in the Southampton area that is looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Maths Lecturer to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lecturer or a skilled education professional looking to inspire the next generation of learners. You will deliver engaging and inclusive maths lessons to students across a range of Further Education programmes, supporting them to develop the numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills they need to succeed in education, apprenticeships and employment.
The Role- Plan and deliver high-quality maths lessons to students aged 16+.
- Teach GCSE Maths and/or Functional Skills Maths.
- Create engaging learning experiences that motivate students of varying abilities.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Prepare learners for examinations and assessments.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental quality improvement.
- Maintain accurate student records and complete all required administrative tasks.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion at all times.
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards one.
- A relevant Maths qualification at Level 5 or above.
- Experience teaching Maths within a Further Education or Secondary Education setting.
- Experience delivering GCSE Maths and/or Functional Skills Maths.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for helping learners build confidence and achieve their full potential.
