Job Title: Mathematics Teacher

Location: Pattison School, Coventry

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract: Permanent Term Time Only

Start Date: October 2026

About the Role

You will:

  • Take responsibility for the planning, delivery and development of mathematics across the senior school.
  • Secure high standards of teaching, learning and assessment in line with school policies and procedures.
  • As the lead specialist teacher of mathematics, the postholder will work closely with senior leaders to drive standards, monitor progress and contribute to the school's wider improvement strategy.
  • Help create a calm, safe, and structured environment that promotes confidence, independence, and learning.

  • Strong subject knowledge and high-quality classroom practice
  • Confidence to lead a subject area independently and take ownership of curriculum and outcomes
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Strong assessment, tracking and organisational skills
  • Effective communication skills with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Ability to reflect on practice and implement positive change
  • Experience of teaching mathematics at Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Experience of preparing pupils for GCSE Mathematics
  • Evidence of securing good pupil progress and examination outcome
  • A good honours degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
