Job Description

GRIDSERVE is a forward-thinking, technology-enabled sustainable energy business. We are committed to delivering net zero transport at the speed and scale the climate crisis requires to prevent global temperature rises exceeding 1.5 C of warming.

We deliver net zero transport through our pioneering and multi award-winning Sun-to-Wheel platform: we develop, deliver and operate world class customer-focused electric vehicle charging networks powered by solar energy and batteries.

Everything we do is underpinned and connected by a technology-agnostic, proprietary data platform that grows and improves every day.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Materials Controller on a 9 month FTC to oversee the efficient management, tracking, and distribution of materials within our operations. The successful candidate will ensure accurate inventory control, timely material deliveries, and compliance with internal procedures and safety standards.

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials for accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of material usage, stock levels, and movements.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Track material deliveries and manage documentation including delivery notes, receipts, and returns.
  • Manage and track purchase orders, ensuring timely placement, follow-up, and receipt of materials.
  • Manage legacy data inputs into GRIDSERVE Systems and maintain going forward.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or delays related to purchase orders.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
  • Enforce compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies in material handling.
  • Assist in improving warehouse layout and material flow efficiency.
  • Generate reports related to inventory status, usage, and forecasting.
  • Support audits and ensure the traceability of all materials.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Required experience

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in material control, inventory management, or warehouse operations.

Required skills and abilities

  • Proficiency with inventory management systems (e.g., Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required qualifications and certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or diploma in supply chain, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Forklift certification (if applicable) is a plus but not a requirement.
