Job Description
PSV Master Technician - Dartford Depot

Pattern: Sunday to Thursday - Full-time, Permanent (5 days/week)

Arriva UK Bus operates services across the United Kingdom. As a Master Technician, you'll serve as the technical focal point in the depot, providing in depth diagnostics, leading fault resolution, and supporting the Engineering Manager and on site engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the depot's complex diagnostics and repairs across mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Act as the go to expert for OBD diagnostics and advanced fault finding.
  • Carry out and guide repairs on engines, axles, gearboxes, emissions systems, electrical faults and hybrid components.
  • Support, mentor, and develop engineers and apprentices in diagnostic techniques.
  • Liaise directly with the Engineering Manager and Technical Manager on high level technical matters.
  • Lead technical campaigns, fleet checks, and engineering trials.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and manufacturers.
What We're Looking For
  • NVQ Level3 in relevant motor vehicle or engineering discipline.
  • Strong experience with diagnostic software (e.g., CumminsInsite, VolvoTech Tool, ACTIA, WABCO, Xentry).
  • PCV License.
  • EV Bus Experience.
  • Excellent understanding of electrical systems (including alternators, wiring harnesses, control units).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Flexible, solutions focused approach with the ability to adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Valid UK driving licence (max6 points).
  • Willingness to undergo and pass a PCV medical.
  • Familiarity with DVSA/Operating Licence requirements.
