About the role:

West Suffolk Council are currently recruiting for a Markets Officer to join our Economic Development team.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the team and play an important role in the delivery of West Suffolk council markets.

Our Markets currently operate from five main locations; Bury St Edmunds, Clare, Newmarket, Haverhill and Mildenhall.

The primary focus would be coordinating the day-to-day market activities, organising market traders, collection of rents, managing and keeping records

The successful applicant will be required to work within the wider economic development team to promote the continual success of our markets.

Working days are flexible but will include a Saturday.

What you will need:
  • Be a good communicator and possess a friendly outgoing demeanour, you will need to be flexible and prepared to work in an outdoors environment.
  • Adopt a hands-on approach, and a can-do approach to the daily demands of delivering excellent services to our customers and resident.
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive approach to Health & Safety and be prepared to take on additional training as required.
  • Be a team player working within the wider team where communication and collaboration is key to the success of the role.
  • Hold a minimum of a Class B driving licence.
