Overview of the Role
This role at Nuveen is an excellent opportunity for someone who has at least 5-10 years event management , including line management responsibility and a digital and creative event skillset.
Sitting within the International Marketing Team, this role will take direction from the Head of Nuveen Global Events & EMEA Client Marketing to create synergies across the wider team, and ensure the smooth delivery of the events programme with support from the EMEA Events team.
The International Marketing team supports the EMEA corporate business at a macro level, while also supporting regional, franchise and fund specific strategies, working closely with Sales and Investment teams. Remit covers the EMEA region with a particular focus on the UK and supporting Pan-Europe event engagements as required.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Team management
Responsible for supporting the Head of Events in the line management of the EMEA Events team, including the quarterly and annual performance review process, and growth and development opportunities.
Implement and regularly review events team processes, ensuring adherence at all times.
Manage portfolio of events
Full end-to-end management and delivery of events (both physical and digital) including but not limited to large to small scale sponsorships, proprietary events, exhibitor industry events and company seminars.
Perform site research and proposals, negotiating and implementing all contractual agreements with vendors and onsite operations.
Bring innovation to our events portfolio and demonstrate expertise in event production, vendor negotiation, event contract procedures, logistics, and delegate management.
Measure event ROI by capturing and reviewing attendance and engagement metrics across live and on-demand content, feeding data into Salesforce.
Contract with 3rd party creative and event organisers where it is deemed appropriate.
Deliver first class customer service to all stakeholders involved in the planning and delivery of company seminars and proprietary events.
Ensure strategic alignment and partnership enhancement across global events and marketing teams (APAC/US).
Partner closely with the Brand team to ensure all events provide an enhance experience of the Nuveen brand from stand and roller banner designs, to literature available both print and digital and merchandise.
Provide oversight and support to the Events team in the procurement of a range of client giveaways to enhance clients' experience of the Nuveen brand.
Strategic planning
Provide strategic direction in organisation around event management and delivery of the full suite of both digital and in person events.
Integrates event activity with other sales/marketing/ product team priorities to drive consistent brand messaging / integrity across campaign structure.
Identify innovative ways to present the Nuveen brand at all events.
Budget planning
Prepare and keep track of annual events budget within expected timeframes.
Manage budgets within delegated authority.
Ensures compliance to budget, expenses, and reconciliations on a per event basis.
Provide accurate and timely budget reports as requested by corporate finance and leadership teams.
Project management
Deliver all events successfully and in a manner appropriate to the audience.
In depth knowledge of digital platforms and their role in the event strategy.
Deliver all events in line with Nuveen and in accordance with the local remit's event strategy.
Ensure all events successfully contribute to company objectives and overall sales and marketing goals.
Manage multiple events and prioritise effectively for 100% delivery.
Ensure project transparency by communicating effectively with all partners, agencies, external clients, suppliers and internal teams.
Conduct event feedback to be analysed and quickly communicated to increase the quality of future projects.
Set high standards of performance for self and others; assume responsibility and accountability for successfully completing projects or tasks.
Communication & Relationships
Manage relationships with industry bodies, preferred vendor partnerships and suppliers globally to maximize benefits and ensure relationship longevity.
Develop excellent relationships across levels of Nuveen employees.
Ensure external suppliers are aligned with the Nuveen brand.
Technical Skills & Qualifications Required
5 to 10 years Event Management experience
Degree educated
Qualification in Event Management or similar preferred
Experience working across the financial services industries
Strong knowledge of the full suite of Microsoft Office products
